Finity – A Fun Apple Arcade Puzzle

In some ways a good puzzle shares similarities with a poem. The elegance, the precision, the word selection, a feeling of resonating with something and finally the point of euphoria that comes with a revelation. Of course among those things authenticity must also be a criteria because neither a puzzle game or good poem can grow as a plagiarized work. In this article we will talk about Finity, a concise and uniquely imaginative puzzle that combines all we said.

Your grid is filled with 16 tiles in various colors and the dimensions are 4×4. Whenever you swipe on any column and row, you move the entire sequence of the tiles in whichever direction you move it. The grid tiles function in such a way that whenver you move a tile off the right edge it shifts/reappears into the opposite extremity. You must move the tiles until you are able to match 3 tiles of the same kind, when this happens they disappear from the grid and it refills from the top just like tetris.

But there a twist

If until now you thought the game is very easy, please don’t. The tiles can be moved around so many times until they freeze, thus preventing their column or row from moving until they are cleared. So don’t try to play the game by swiping the tiles chaotically but do so on a rather strategic way, sort of like you are playing chess or you will be locked. With each tile move the closer you are to the locked grid. How do you know if the grid is locked? The app shakes whenever you try to move a locked row or column.

If you don’t move with strategy and thoughtfulness and have a foresight like you’re playing chess, then Finity can be more infuriating as it is fun. You must envision the next move and if possible foresee the next 2-3 movies after that. You are given all the time of the world unless you are playing the race mode called ‘tempo mode’, in this mode the moves must be synchronized with the music track that is playing.

As fun as Finity can be, it can be even more infuriating…in a good way…kind of. When I started playing, I thought I was pretty good at it. I was wrong. The more wrinkles it throws at you, the harder and more challenging it is to progress to new levels. Whether that’s a “good” thing is up to you. I like it, but I also hate it.
